Van broke.
Better now than later, I guess
The Sunday Glow Tour
Day 1: 792KM
Toronto - Whitby - North Bay - Sault Ste Marie
I’m tired. It’s time for bed.
I feel kind of bad.
I’m smoking cigarettes and watching George Shrinks.
We’re all ready to go, and are heading out in just a few minutes.
I’m. Freaking. Excited.
First stop: Uxbridge to grab a rooftop carrier
Number two: Cannington to pick up some weed
Next stop: North towards Thunder Bay to find somewhere to crash for the night
Here goes!
3:57AM - Tour day - Toronto
I still can’t really believe that I’m going on tour. It’s only been a month since I’ve been in contact with the guys, and only a few weeks since I’ve been a part of the band and I’ve already played two shows with them and we’re leaving to drive across Canada on tour later today. Everything feels so surreal right now.
I love the music that we play; the originals are absolutely AMAZING (the EP is available on iTunes within the next few days), and the covers they’ve chosen for bar-gigs and whatnot are all great tunes that nobody seems to cover. I couldn’t be happier with whom I’m playing with as well; Both Gary (guitar/vox) and Shane (drums) are great musicians and super chill guys. I really couldn’t think of cooler people to tour with.
There’s a strange feeling in my stomach right now, as though it’s been nailed to this couch and it doesn’t want to leave Ontario. It’s not that I don’t want to leave, travelling to BC has been a dream of mine for quite some time and I couldn’t think of a better way to fill that than by playing music with great guys, it’s just such a sudden change. This summer I wanted to find a job, focus on my art, and spend a lot of time with my amazing friends back in Port Perry. There’s no better way to spend a summer, but goddamn this was a big change and it happened fast.
This took a lot more sacrifice than I thought as well. Since I’ve joined, I’ve been in Toronto so often that I’ve barely had time to see the people who mean the most to me. I’ve barely gotten to see my best friend, I had a really awkward goodbye with another important person, and a few other quick goodbyes. And that’s the few people I HAVE been able to see, there’s so many others I wanted to see before I left but I guess that’s the price of the job.
courage-my-love replied to your post: HEY. I GO ON TOUR SOON.
Do you like fun
Fun. is great, it’s just like The Format but happy! I usually don’t like when side-projects sound similar, but this time I was happy about it.
But if you just want to know if I enjoy fun, yes I do; fun is something that I like to have quite often.
Hey! This is my band.
